Sit Straight, Talk Crooked

You know, when kids sit down with their legs crossed, it is no longer referred to as sitting *indian style*....NOT EVEN for those pictured above!

They say, "sit crisscross applesauce" or some other inanity.

It's just yet another example of political correctness run amok.

I suggest y'all adopt the tack of my clever backlash. From now on I am going say to my kids,

Sit like a drunken gift-reclaimer !!!

In the 35 year span of my life, I've only met one red-faced scalper. Mr. Brown was my elementary school gym teacher.

So as far as I can tell, *native Americans* are just about extinct. Why then must we be so hypersensitive toward them?

Next they'll be saying we can't make references to lepers and passenger pigeons.

Our Pols - Humorless Liars And Idiots

White House Watermelon Email From California Mayor Dean Grose Inspires Outrage
The mayor of Los Alamitos is coming under fire for an e-mail he sent out that depicts the White House lawn planted with watermelons, under the title "No Easter egg hunt this year."

Local businesswoman and city volunteer Keyanus Price, who is black, said Tuesday she received the e-mail from Mayor Dean Grose's personal account on Sunday and wants a public apology.
Grose confirmed to the AP that he sent the e-mail to Price and said he didn't mean to offend her. He said he was unaware of the racial stereotype that black people like watermelons.

He said he and Price are friends and serve together on a community youth board.

"Bottom line is, we laugh at things and I didn't see this in the same light that she did," Grose told the AP. "I'm sorry. It wasn't sent to offend her personally - or anyone - from the standpoint of the African-American race."

Grose, who became mayor in December, said he sent an apology e-mail to Price and her boss and also left her a voicemail apology.

Regardless, Price said it will be difficult for the two to work together.

"Now I am like - wow, is this really how he feels?" Price said.

He didn't know the *stereotype*?

If anyone believes that....they are so stupid they deserve to be lied to!

Furthermore, I fail to see how the propensity to eat watermelon is an offensive stereotype. It's a harmless fact.

Look, 'old coots' crave bland meat-and-potatoes, Latinos only eat at Taco Bell, Indians have their curry, Asians eat a lot of Ramen and canine, Bostonians like to eat crap, and blacks have a natural hankering for one particular fruit.

(And one particular beer, one particular boned meat, one particular vegetable, one particular evaporated drink, and one particular soft drink.)

So what's the big deal? Where's the *offense*?

Man, was the Fuzzy Zoeller/Tiger Woods incident really 12 years ago now?

The Moron Chromosome

No vehicle other than a cartoon is more suitable to ridicule modern day political correctness.

The other day I was astounded by it yet again when reading a Wikipedia entry on hysterectomy.

Here's the sentence that blew my mind:

This surgery is exclusively performed on those who are chromosomally female....

Chromosomally female? What the heck does that mean?

Is that like saying that, I don't know, maybe "...Geraldo Rivera is chromosomally male"?

It reminded me of the time I learned the word "heteronormative" from some Harvard ditz on television.

If you seek bewilderment, go read the Wikipedia entry on that word, er neologism.

UPDATE - From today's newswires, San Francisco Approves ID Cards That Exclude Gender.

Political Correctness Run Amok

Give me a break. Now even photos of nachos have to be taken by Hispanics? It's like on television's Law & Order - whenever racial issues crop up in the courtroom, they can't ever have three white guys (two lawyers and a judge) settling the case; diversity is mandatory in those situations.

No further details on the nachos "dispute"?

Could it have been a double-dip situation?

I myself, am an unapologetic multiple-dipper...
