Classics For Early Readers

That's the classic book my daughter is reading now.

While the Dick and Jane series is *old* and oft-cricized (*sight* words, low phonetical emphasis) I've found them to be very good, actually perfect reading exercises for my daughter - the 4.70 year old Princess. An incipient reader, I make her say each word aloud and we re-read each page until she can do so without any help.

Your local government library should have them.

If not you can buy them for next to nuthin'. Get the bigger books though. Heck they are only $8 apiece and you'll get good use out of them - especially if you have a brood:

Dick and Jane - Fun With Our Family

Dick and Jane - We Play And Pretend
