Explains Why Ferriss Is Blogging So Much These Days

Yeah, he's releasing another book - The 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman.

Note the ingenious, eye-catching subtitle - An Uncommon Guide To Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman.

So the book is for lazy fat people, ignorant lovers, and wannabe superheros, i.e. just about everyone!

Of course I'm going to buy it, even if I think some of the things he did to research this book were INSANE.

One of this latent-perv's taglines promises to reveal *how to give women 15 minute 0rgasms*.

C'mon, Tim.  For one thing, that's a promotion of rank inequality that I could never condone...

Well we'll see if The 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman lives up to the hype soon enough.

So far the marketing, IMO, has been off the charts - from the subject/design of the book right down to how Ferriss ramped up his blog output into this release.

And, as big as his last title was, this one has potentially even wider appeal.  Almost every one on this Gaia-forsaken planet eats, exercises, and is trying to reshape their bod.

r u serious ???

i have a bridge to sell...mere ownership of it creates an aura around you which will create positive spiritual vibrations in your body, leading to lean-mean-fit mind/physical body that can give 15-min orgasms as needed.

after u buy the bridge, you just have to wish for it for everything else to fall in place.

i just looked at the rating for The Secret

Its #2 best selling in "Personal Transformation" !!!

Can you f'ing believe this ... sometimes humans can be the most unintelligent species on the planet.

Its actually #2 in three areas :

#2 in Books > Religion & Spirituality > Occult
#2 in Books > Religion & Spirituality > New Age > Mental & Spiritual Healing
#2 in Books > Health, Mind & Body > Self-Help > Personal Transformation

And that Tucker Max caveman is way up on those lists too.

It's amazing that Amazon is a viable business in a country like America, where the average person you meet grunts or rolls his eyes when you discuss the joys of reading, especially reading LOOOONG books.

I guess it's those 20% of Americans who own 80% of the wealth that are doing all the shopping at Amazon!

Btw C, your title is fing awful... didn't you learn anything from Ferriss about how to come up with catchy, must-click titles? You don't even mention his book title keyword in your title!

AMATEUR HOUR

I'll put the title in the post when I actually read the book and review it.

I most definitely DO NOT want to become or be thought of as one of those transparent click-whores. Otherwise I'd be using SEO-optimized titles and whatnot.

Did you notice that Ferriss was building up his blog output into the launch?

I'll bet he was saving content for this expressed *marketing* purpose. Of course the book has to come out right before Christmas too.

C,

Oh yeah, I was explaining to a friend who I got to get his 4HWW that it was really amazing how he orchestrated his own marketing strategy to a T. At the end of the day, the guy is consistent and disciplined. It's entirely transparent if you're paying any attention but most people aren't and even those who are realize he is just so "likeable" the way he does it that you almost feel compelled to play along. He does a good job of making you feel rewarded for playing along and manipulating you into thinking "It would cost me so little, and he'd gain so much..."

On a related note, I was watching a Daily Show clip with my gal last night. "President" Bill Cliton [sic] was being interviewed and talking up his Clinton Global Initiative do-gooder scam. I kept pausing to explain to her why this guy was a liar, an evil, black-hearted tyrant, how he helped create many of the problems he is now "helping to solve" (but not completely! or he would be out of a job, AGAIN), and then I explained to her how consummate liar, self-promoter politician scum like him manipulate people by using "talking points" and "baffling with bullshit". Sure enough, he ends his heart-felt shpiel with this obviously-practiced, much-coached recitation of statistic-laden talking points, blows the audience away with all the meaningless number trivia and then swoops in for the kill by 1.) admitting he's a hypocrite because he's not even doing what he himself is saying should be done and then 2.) immediately glosses over it and stirs up the crowd emotionally by proclaiming "WE SHOULD GIVE FREE STUFF TO PEOPLE WHO NEED IT!" (crowd goes wild with applause) and then connects that emotion to himself by 3.) finishing with, "That's how I feel, that's who I am."

My jaw dropped. I was seriously impressed. The guy is an evil piece of ess, but he's a damn talented evil piece of ess. Truly on top of his game.

Best part was probably the beginning when Jon Stewart asked him about Chelsea's recent wedding and the walking-infidelity Clinton gushed about what a great moment it was for him and how he loved his son-in-law so much. I turned to my gal and said, "Man, it'd be classic if Jon played hardball and said, 'Would you still love him if he cheated on your daughter the way you did with Hillary?'"
