Btw a family member just started at CU Boulder and is taking a gen-ed class called "Crime and Society" that involves a requirement of choice of police ride along or trial observation.
Whenever I hear "Crime and Society" I immediately think "Police and Society"
I'll marry an officer of the law (gender-neutral... very witty) when the government is just. Or when hell freezes over. Whichever comes first (I bet on hell).

A couple of bumper stickers I saw on lots of Seattle cars in 2005 summarize my thoughts ...
"If you aren't outraged, you are not listening."
"Dissent is patriotic"
Why don't I see these anymore??
